Distribution
Eastern Australia: found in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.

There are 4 subspecies:
- A. r. squamata:
- Eastern Queensland (Atherton Tableland to Connors Range)
- A. r. nesa:
- South-eastern Queensland (Blackdown Tableland to New South Wales border)
- A. r. reguloides:
- A. r. australis:
- Mount Lofty Range (South Australia) to south-western Victoria
Habitat
Eucalypt woodland, heathy dry forest, open decrepit forest, woodland or scrub.
Behaviour
Diet
It's diet consists of insects and lerps.
