Identification

18 cm (7 in)

  • Brown upperparts
  • Paler ear-coverts
  • Dull greyish brown underparts
  • White coronal patch (partly concealed)
  • 2-3 buffy wing-bars

Distribution

South America: found in Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Wooded river islands of the Amazon system.

Behaviour

Diet

There is little information available, but it is thought they eat insects and fruit.
