Asia and Australasia
South-east Asia: Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Lesser Sundas, Timor, Moluccas
Australasia: Papua New Guinea, Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia
Taxonomy
Subspecies[1]
There are 3 subspecies:
- M. r. ruficollis:
- Lesser Sundas and small islands in Flores Sea
- M. r. fulviventris:
- Tanimbar Islands (Larat, Yamdena and Selaru)
- M. r. mimikae:
- New Guinea; north-western Western Australia to Cape York Peninsula; Keppel Bay
Subspecies fulviventris is sometimes considered a separate species Tanimbar Flycatcher[2].
Habitat
Moist lowland forests, mangroves and montanes.
