Distribution
South America: Tropical southeast Brazil (Espírito Santo to eastern Paraná)
Taxonomy
Andean Laniisoma and Brazilian Laniisoma were formerly considered one species under the name of Shrike-like Cotinga.
In the past this species belonged in the family Cotingidae. It is now placed in the Tityridae5.
Subspecies
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Humid forests, especially in hilly regions but lower elevations.
