West Africa: Found from Mali and Sierra Leone to Cameroon

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly considered conspecific with Blue-headed Bee-eater.

Habitat

Canopy of lowland rain forest.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes small butterflies, honeybees and other large insects.
