Identification

48–51 cm (18-20 in)

  • Black cap
  • Pale yellow rump
  • Dark slate-grey tail
  • Black bill

Distribution

South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Subtropical and temperate cloud forests, thickets, bogs and agricultural areas.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of fruit and seeds; also some insects, but there is little detail currently available.
