22 cm; large head a bill

  • Black head, nape and throat

Distribution

North-eastern Afghanistan to central Nepal

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Montane forests at around 1800m.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of berries, buds, seeds and shoots from pine, fir, and yew trees. Also crab apples and rose hips.
