Distribution

South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies[1]:

  • C. m. mollissima:
  • C. m. yungae:
  • Locally in Andes of south-eastern Peru (Cusco) and northern Bolivia (Cochabamba)

Habitat

Inhabits dense undergrowth often with fallen trees in cloud forests.

Behaviour

Diet

There is very little published information, but they are known to eat small seeds.
