- Greyish-black axillaries and underwing-coverts, barred black and white
- Pinkish eye ring
- Pink bare orbital skin
Distribution
South-east Asia: New Guinea, northern Moluccas Islands, Aru Islands, western Papuan Islands, and New Ireland.

Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies:1
- G. p. plumbeiventris:
- Northern Moluccas, New Guinea, Misool, Karkar and New Ireland
- G. p. hoeveni:
- Aru Islands and Trans-Fly lowlands of southern New Guinea
Habitat
Floor of primary and marsh forests, swamps and wet grass.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of insects and small animals.
