Backwater Reservoir, looking south

History and Use

A reservoir which is owned and operated by Scottish Water. The sole purpose of the reservoir is for drinking water and supplies Dundee, Angus and parts of Perth & Kinross. Was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in October 1969.
