Identification
7·5–8 cm (3-3¼ in) The only flowerpecker in its range.

- Greyish breast

- Glossy black tail
- Short thick curved bill
Distribution
Endemic to the Andaman Islands, India.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly considerd conspecific with Nilgiri Flowerpecker and Plain Flowerpecker.
Habitat
Woodland edges, cultivation. Often associated with mistletoes.
Behaviour
Breeding
The 2-3 eggs are laid in a purse-like nest suspended from a tree or bush.
