Altos de Campana National Park-Cloud Forest

Central America, Panama

An hour drive to the west of Panama City and you will be in the cloud forest of Altos de Campana National Park. With remarkable steep rock formations and many creeks and waterfalls, Altos de Campana is one of Panama's best kept secrets.

Notable Species

The area offers good chances to see some of the Panamanian mountains' endemic birds such as the Orange-bellied Trogon, Black-crowned Antpitta and Black and Yellow Tanager.

Other birds to be found in the area are the White-ruffed Manakin, Silver-throated Tanager, Bay-headed Tanager and Emerald Tanager, Chestnut-capped Brush Finch, Yellow-eared Toucanet and other foothill and lower-highlands birds.
