Sexes are similar
Juveniles lack the black nape collar.

Africa
Western Africa: Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo
Eastern Africa: Uganda
Taxonomy

There are 3 subspecies:
- A. s. swindernianus:
- Patchily distributed Liberia, Ivory Coast and Ghana
- A. s. zenkeri:
- Cameroon to Gabon, southern Central African Republic and western Zaire
- A. s. emini:
Habitat
Forest canopy.
Behaviour
A major part of their diet is the seeds and flesh of the native fig.
