Murder in Himalayas
Civilization claims another
unsuspecting victim...
An Indian Giant Flying Squirrel
pierced by the jutting spike of
telegraph wire...
They are magnificent creatures ;
large , handsome and gentle.
Even tame , as our aggressive
civil society likes to call them...
They breathtakingly glide from
valley to valley using folds of
skin between their front and
hind limbs...
I dreamt of capturing one
in action...
Ended up taking a picture of
one crucified...
Crepuscular , they generally sleep
their day off in a hollow in tree
or occasionally in old style
Hill Houses...
This unfortunate individual
failed to notice the spike of
the wire in failing dusk light,
paying with life...
... to our mechanisms..
We are growing at a disturbing
cost ...
There may not be an easy
solution ...
... but there has to be
one...
For our own good...
... if nothing else ...

A shocking image. It certainly makes you stop and think. Thanks for sharing it.

Super example of such a sad death Alok. We suffer here in NZ from cats killing our beautiful native birds.
Rookery.

It must have suffered a long and slow death being pierced at that leg - such a needless tragedy. Thanks for sharing.
