Wearing white and talking while birding? (1 Viewer)

It's illogical to argue that forest-colored clothing in a forest is easier to spot than any other color, so if you are birding in a group, be considerate and blend in. Unnecessary/loud talking or motion are also counterproductive. When you are by yourself, knock yourself out and wear white and sing while you are birding. Exceptions apply and your mileage may vary, depending on the bird and season. :)

Ticks are a problem here as well, which is why I avoid walking through grass (which means pretty much ditching some paths when it's late enough in the season), which is good because it also gives birds privacy at a time when they most need it and it pushes me to expand into neighbouring areas. In general -- in terms of enjoyment and birding output -- the time and effort spent walking through terrain can be better used by following a clear-cut trail somewhere else. Of course, it's good to be vaxxed just in case if the relevant drug exists (TBE here).
