If we have the will. Nature finds the way.
i will be visiting Romania in May 2013 and i am interested in doing as much birding as possible during my stay.
i fly into Cluj napoca and will be staying in this area for the first week
then off to Sinia for the second week
if anyone can give me any assistance with places worth visiting in these areas or close to them i would be grateful

many thanks in advance

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

A good book for birding places in Romania is - Romania a bird watching and wildlife guide,James Roberts, Burton Expeditions, 2000.
I am living in Brasov. For wetland areas I would suggest Dumbravita area, Rotbav area, Reci forest. These are located arround Brasov, at less than 50 km. For birding in the mountains I would suggest Piatra Craiului, Piatra Mare and Bucegi mountains.
For any other information please contact me.

Cristian
