iSimangaliso Wetland Park Sightings (1 Viewer)

Hi, A couple of weeks ago we went up to what is fast becoming a favourite. Sighted 2 exceptionally large birds that need some clarification.

1. Crowned Eagle - Taken on a very windy day on the Western shores.

2. Southern Banded Snake Eagle - Sighted reasonably early in the morning on the Eastern shores.

Please confirm if I am correct.
Thanks.

No. 1 - Legs and belly appear too white for Crowned Eagle, very dark head and chest, and no signs of barring - I'd go with adult Martial Eagle for this one.

No. 2 - Agree with Southern Banded Snake Eagle.
