    Very true Phil. The 2007 Staffs bird at Barton was also in a small patch of reeds. Interestingly the last three WMBC records have occurred on dates within a week of each other, Grimley 14th, Sandwell 18th and Barton 20th and all one day birds. The other three WMBC records were all at Brandon...

    Hi Simon, This record was submitted to Birding Today late last night but the observer did not provide any further details or any contact details. Given the report of one over Coventry on Tuesday I thought it was worth a mention despite the notoriety of Sandwell Valley for 'phantom sightings'...
