What did you see in your binoculars today?

I would assume so too, but I did wonder if they took them home for the kiddies. No way to tell.

What did you see in your binoculars today?

What did the eagles do with the fish?

Is this the true future of binoculars?

    I sincerely hope not.

    Best Binocular for...

Any binocular is likely to be much better than your bare eyeballs, but fussing over which individual glass out of a stable would be the absolute optimum, strikes me as impractical, to say the least.

    Best Binocular for...

Having thought about it, I still think the answer is “no”. I can’t think of a single rational reason why this would be true. You are introducing too many simultaneous variables. (I think)

Visual effects in binoculars when used with polarisers

This is another reason why I wish binocular manufacturers threaded their product so we could use filters. One I would try a pair of would be polarizers.

    Best Binocular for...

I guess I’m still confused by the question. If it’s good at 30’ it’s good at infinity.

    Best Binocular for...

I agree with this. No optic that I have ever seen “handles” mirage/bad seeing. The only thing you can do is use as little magnification as possible. (I think)

    Bingo!

    Best Binocular for...

I may get dog piled, but I think the answer to most of your questions is “no”. Swarovski has an apparent reputation as a bit of a “glare monster” under some conditions, but others swear that they never see it. I did, in mine. In general, better is still better, and always more expensive...

    The best binoculars

Don't be seduced by magnification. There are many more factors that make a binocular "better" than another. There is no "best", it is too individual. The "top three" are (alphabetically) Leica, Swarovski, and Zeiss with endless, and sometimes heated, discussion of which one is best, and even if.

    A noob's view from a Swarovski NL Pure 12x42 and a Kowa Genisis 8.5x44.

I’m not convinced that it is correct to apply any “standard” or “expectations” to an instrument you are reviewing. Evaluate it as if you don’t even know what it is. To do otherwise is to mock objectivity, and consign the whole review to the discards. (Yust my opinion)

    My first pair, help please.

If your range is £250-£400, I would urge you to spend the higher, not the lower. Optics are not a god place to try to save money, and I second Mike Crawley’s comment above.

Poll: will you buy Swarovski AX Visio?

When in doubt, blame an inanimate object ….. then everyone can continue to feel good about themselves.

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

Fine optics, alas, are not a good place to try to save money. I sincerely hope OP can get this resolved.

Can a 25mm binocular resolve sky/cloud detail well?

Bill; As long as I think I can see a difference in favor of my Zeiss SF over other glass, I do not thing I have wasted my money. I am talking about all the subjective, indescribable, and hand-waving aspects of the view through the best optics. Clarity, transparency, wow factor and so on...

Can a 25mm binocular resolve sky/cloud detail well?

If you want small binoculars, you are going to have to make some serious compromises. As long as the binoculars you are want are not the binoculars you can/will carry, I think you have set yourself an insoluble problem. No matter how much money you spend, or no matter how many different ones...

Can a 25mm binocular resolve sky/cloud detail well?

I'm curious about which kinds of "detail" OP sees in the sky and clouds.

    Cataracts and binoculars

Your implants may have UV filtration, mine do, your ophthalmic surgeon will know. I wear sunglasses more than I used to, just because the world has gotten so much brighter.
