    Thanks Jan, very helpful. Any thoughts on how they compare with the modern Leica branded equivalent in terms of performance? My other option is to save up abit more money and get something upmarket.

    I'm thinking of buying a pair of Leitz Trinovid 8x40 binoculars from a friend. Serial no is 747910, marked Germany, 128m/1000m. Any idea date of manufacture , how they perform against newer Leica Trinovids and also what I should pay second hand. They are in good condition. For some reason...

    New on the site and cannot find how to locate specific sub forums and then post a new thread. Looking for binoculars / Leica. How do I do this? Also is there a help button anywhere to get this type of advice.
