    Help identify front lens problem?

Trying a binocular, but there is something on the front lens. What do you think it could be? Its two round dots close together and a long thin mark. Cant see if its scratched. Tried with a fine dry rag to clean of, but no change. So not oil. Thought it might be objective cover to close and...

    TSN-82SV vs 663M?

I am considering a TSN-82SV or a 663m, with just the 30x occular (32x on 82). From what I have read, the 82SV uses regular glass, while 663m has XD glass. And the main difference is less CA with XD. The 82 has a focal ratio of 5.5 if I remember. The 663 has a focal ratio of 7 I belive. Not...

    Hawk or? Norway

Another photo.. I think it was chasing something else interesse garden, when one of the two doves took a wrong turn… I am currently on ‘’chasing Magpies’’ duty.. three large Magpies are trying to chase it away, while I am flayling my arms around behind the curtains so Sparrowhawk cant see me...

    25-50x eyepiece diameter?

I was wondering if anybody knows the diameter of the ATS/STS 25-50x ocular? I find that 55mm is to large for my face/eyesockets.

    Glare Monsters!

I would add, on a sub-forum of a Birdforum dealing with binoculars, I would expect more talk about binoculars, then birds. Just like on spotting scope sub-forum, of Bird forum. Just like some others, I dont identify birds or try to hunt rare ones. I like to find birds and just observe them...

    Glare Monsters!

Denco: did you get the chance to see through it with eyetubes all the way in, and just place eyes in front of them. Curious if you get the same effect I do.

Which binoculars are less stressfull for the eyes?

    1. Swarovski 8x56 SLC 2. Fujinon 7x50 FMT Nothing else comes close to ease of viewing of all binoculars I have owned.

    Glare Monsters!

Yes… Thought I wrote SLC.. :) Used mainly on tripod. Just holding my eyes in front of it with eyetubes all the way in, the binocular just vanishes, and leaves a large maginified circular image in front of me. No other binocular I have owned has produced this effect for me!!

    Glare Monsters!

8x56 is my main birding binocular.. Its the most comfortable binocular I have ever looked through.. Even more so then my Fujinon 7x50 FMTR.

    Occular Size differences between Brands?

I was wondering if people know or could measure their spotting scope occulars to see what difference there is between them. I bought one with near 48mm diameter occular and it made it difficult to get a good fit and viewing comfortable. Tried another manufacturer with 40mm which fit better...

Having 2 pairs of binoculars. Which would you choose?

Swarovski 8x56 SLC Swarovski 15x56 SLC Allready have the 8x56, and kind of unsure about 15x56… Just think if Swarovski brought out a NL Pure 16x56.

Are there any producers who sells eyepieces with Mil-reticles in them still? I have read in passing Meopta did, maybe Nikon Monarch?

What do beginners notice most when looking through binoculars.

Started some 10+ years ago when I worked on oil plattforms in the North Sea. First came across a Fujinon 7x50 FMTR-SX which was so easy to look through and 3D. Looking at birds on the helideck made me want to buy my first binocular for watching stars. After resarch, Fujinon 10x50 FMT-SX was...

Kowa Genesis, which model is best in line?

I was wondering for those that have tried multiple of the Kowa Genesis binoculars, which was the easiest/comfortable to look through? I was planing on the 8x33, but is there one in the line up you would consider best?

Habicht 7x42 GA occular aftermaket covers??

I was wondering if anybody knows of occular hood/protection caps that fit the Swarovski Habicht 7x42 GA model? The supplied one will only fit when IPD is down to 58-62, while my IPD is 68-69. So I would have to adjust and fiddle with IPD every single time I wanted to look at something. And...

    ATS/STS videohead - direct mounting?

It is starting to look like I might go the route of 15x56 SLC and 25-50x65 STS The 15x56 will use the TAs-SLC tripod adapter. And I belive just the foot on the STS.. Both of these I belive have the AS ‘’logo’’ underneath foot, which should indicate direct mounting is possible? But as...

Technical description of this behaviour of my Swarovski 8x56?

I tried it with the 8x42 in store.. Could not replicate it.. I will probably try again.

Technical description of this behaviour of my Swarovski 8x56?

Strange.. I tried with all the NL Pures, and could not replicate it. Might have to take another trip.. But its the only binocular I have had this happen with.. though I have not tried removing or bending down rubber eye protection on others. With the 8x56 it was just an instant ‘’sphere’’ of...

    ATS/STS videohead - direct mounting?

Yes without QR plate.. I have this RRS ballhead with clamp: https://reallyrightstuff.com/bh-55-ball-head/ So could just get a QR plate… But if there are products out there that allow direct clamping I would like to look at them.
