    Another Cooper's vs Sharpie?

I noticed this bird while out walking the dog this morning, 2/29, N.W. Washington, State, U.S.A.. It stayed put while I ran back to the car and got the camera, and hung around for a pretty good photo shoot. I was sure it was a Sharpie. It appeared small and just had that look. The first few...

    American Black Duck?

I was walking the dog today in a usual place along the water.n There are typically hundreds of American Wigeon here and a few Eurasian mixed in. I snapped a few shots of a long log covered with Wigeon and a few Mallards. I only noticed this bird at home looking at pics on the computer. It looks...

    Willow Flycatcher?

Would you agree that this is a Willow Flycatcher? It was a very brief visit to my feeder area. I snapped a few shots through the window and it was gone. I heard no vocalization, I did play a recording of a Willow after it was gone in hopes it would return but not. Bremerton Washington...

    Cooper's?

This bird is patrolling my feeders. I initially thought Sharpie while viewing as it seemed small, it was brief, but in examining photos It looks like a Cooper's. A bit of a crest visible, eye proportion to head, rounded tail. Do you agree? Bremerton, Washington. 3/20/2022.

A futile attempt to replace my 10x42 Engage.

For the past couple of years I've been carrying around a pair of Bushnell Engage 10x42 and have been quite happy with them. These are the better of the 3 Engage and I think I paid under $300 for them on sale. They have been dropped and banged around numerous times. The hinge is loose and there...

    Leucistic Chickadee

This little beauty appeared at my feeder the other day. It was dark, dreary and pouring rain. And it was elusive. Like it realized it stood out. It would pop in quickly for a seed and gone just as quickly leaving little opportunity for photos. I was hoping it would hang around for better light...

    D500 issue

Hi folks, My D7200 has all but bitten the dust. So a month ago I pulled the trigger on a brand new D500 from B&H. Right from the start I had great difficulty sliding open the memory card door, but figured it was just new & stiff. While out in the field one day I was struggling to open it and a...

    Hermit Thrush?

N.W. Washington, Kitsap County this morning, 5/27. Only got a brief look and some poor photos. The bird seemed much smaller than a thrush to me. But looking at this photo I don't know what else it could be. Ebird says rare for place & date. Thanks as always.

    Tailorbird

Common or dark-necked? I was perusing e-bird and there was a dark-necked reported at Laem Pakarang where this picture was taken. It got me wondering which I'd seen. I can't tell the difference. Some pics of dark-necked don't show a dark neck!

    Flycatchers Western Wa.

I can't tell these things apart! The usual suspects are Pac-slope, Willow, Alder, WW Pewee. I know audio is best but my ears are shot from too many years of power tools, can't hear high frequency for beans! These were all shot this morning within a half mile of each other around the brushy...
