Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

Placed in genus Neocossyphus by Clements.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
