- Pale line running down upperparts from nape to rump
- Red crown and crest

- Dark brown crown and crest,
- Greyish brown underparts
- Whitish line running down back
Distribution
Malay Peninsula and the Greater Sundas.

Habitat
Forests, forest edges, coastal scrubs and plantations.
Behaviour
They live in pairs and family parties.
Diet
Their diet consists of beetles larvae, termites, caterpillars, ants and other insects.
