Xiphorhynchus atlanticus

Identification

  • Small with a relatively large head
  • Long, thin bi-coloured bill
  • Steep forehead
  • Streaked back
  • Unstreaked undertail coverts

Distribution

South America: found in Brazil north of the Rio São Francisco (Ceará and Paraíba to Alagoas)

Taxonomy

Ceara Woodcreeper has been split from Lesser Woodcreeper

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

They are mainly to be found in rainforests of the coastal range and on humid montane tops.
