Opisthocomidae is a Family in the Order Gruiformes according to Clements 2007 which is followed for this level of taxomony here in Opus. However, the placement of this one species (Hoatzin) is very uncertain, and e.g. Howard & Moore places it in a monotypic order Opisthocomiformes.
