Identification

Large and sluggish with blakish plumage.Broad pinkish bill and orbital skin together with buff throat and subterminal tail band of white spots diagnostic.Broad white bar at primaries conspicuous in flight.Yellow -orange streak on back usualy inconspicous at rest but shows well in flight.Juvenile-bill paler,throat blakish,lacks streak on back.Size-28cm.-Voice-A cadence of shrill thin notes,ki-ii-ki-ii,ki-ii..raising inflection.Also a shrill pseeeo on a descending tone.
