Subspecies catarmanensis may be elevated as "Camiguin Bulbul", H. catarmanensis
Subspecies
Four subspecies recognized[1]:
- H. e. everetti: Dinagat, Mindanao, Panaon, Biliran and Siargao
- H. e. samarensis: Samar and Leyte
- H. e. haynaldi: the Sulu Archipelago (Bongao, Jolo, Sibutu, Tawitawi and Sanga Sanga)
- H. e. catarmanensis: "Camiguin Bulbul". Camiguin Sur
Formerly placed in genus Ixos.
Habitat
Forests, forest edges and secondary growth. Occurs below 1000 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of fruit and, probably, insects, but there is no detailed information available.
