Identification

From Bronzed Drongo and Ashy Drongo by more robust build, heavier bill and broader tail with widely spaced tips. Size-28cm.

Distribution

Breeding in the Himalayas, northern Myanmar, northern Thailand; wintering south throughout South-East Asia to Greater Sundas.

Taxonomy

Monotypic.

Habitat

Mangroves, forests, forest edges, plantations and wooded scrub land and gardens.

Behaviour

Hawks for insects from open perches in typical drongo fashion.
