Distribution

Western South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 6 subspecies^[1]:

• A. s. striaticollis:

• Subtropical Andes of Colombia and Venezuela

• A. s. anxia:

• Santa Marta Mountains (north-eastern Colombia)

• A. s. perijana:

• Sierra de Perijá (Colombia/Venezuela border)

• A. s. venezuelana:

• Coastal cordillera of northern Venezuela

• A. s. montana:

• Subtropical eastern Ecuador and eastern Peru

• A. s. yungae:

• Andes of south-eastern Peru (Cuzco and Puno) and western Bolivia

Habitat

Moist montanes.
