Identification
Light brown above narrowly freckled with black, paler below with dusky bars, belly pale-spotted. Length 33cm

There are two subspecies[1]
Habitat
Forest.
Behaviour
A typically shy species, occasionally encountered walking along trails. Its distinctive vocalization seems to be produced more sporadically than those of sympatric tinamous (particularly Brown Tinamou).
