Identification
Black-thighed Falconet (Microhierax fringillarius )
(treated as a race of Collared Falconet M. caerulescens by some authors)
Range: Southern Asia: breed in southern Tenasserim, peninsular Thailand and Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Bali and Borneo. Now scarce in Java and Bali. Resident.
Habitat: Forest edge and secondary-growth woodland up to 1,200m, sometimes close to human habitation.
