Identification

Grey upperparts, grey throat, and distinctly barred breast, dark grey wings and long tail. Bill is decurved and yellow with dark tip. Sexes are similar.

Distribution

South Asia.

Some authorities split this taxon into three species: Himalayan Cuckoo Cuculus saturatus, Oriental Cuckoo Cuculus optatus, and Sunda Cuckoo Cuculus lepidus (Clements, 2007).
