Breeding in the Himalays,northern Myamar.norther Thailand;wintering south throughout South-East Asia to Greater Sundas.

Mangroves,forests,forest edges,plantations and wooded scrub land and gardens.

Hawks for insects from open perchs in typical drongo fashion.
