Identification

- Green overall plumage

Distribution
South-east Asia: found in Indochina, Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Brunei, Indonesia, Greater Sundas and Sumatra
Taxonomy
Sometimes placed in the genus Megalaima.
Subspecies
Two subspecies recognized[1]:
- P. h. henricii from south peninsular Thailand south to Malay Peninsula and Sumatra
- P. h. brachyrhynchus in Borneo
Habitat
Lowland primary evergreen forests up to 975 m, swamp forest and occasionally in cocoa plantations.

Their diet consists mostly of fruit (mainly figs).
