the ex-wife and myself are going on a trip starting on the 10th july for 6 days ( yes its a complicated story) we are going in the campervan so staying at stonehenge on the sunday then monday moving on to durdle door in dorset then to padstow in cornwall for 4 nights. so what to expect birdwise? i hope to see dartford warbler at durdle door but cannot find much on the web cirl buntings are too far away would stone curlew be possible at rspb winterbourne??

its a long time since ive visted any help would be appriciated

RSPB Winterbourne should be worth a visit. Had Corn Buntings there as well. Maybe try and fit RSPB Arne in for Dartfords? Could you stop off at Labrador Bay on way to Padstow? Can recommend Rick Steins in Padstow and Nathan Outlaws across the other side for food btw.

For best chance of Stone Curlew hit RSPB Winterbourne either first thing or last thing. Middle of the day they will probably be hunkered down, quite possibly in cover. Should get Corn Bunting there, if not then Martin Down?

Labrador Bay is a good call but if using satnav stick to the main roads, some of the lanes running down into Teignton are almost too narrow for a car let alone a van.

Bear in mind there's a height barrier on the car park at RSPB Winterbourne Downs, there's also on on the A345 car park at Martin Down, but not at the Sillens Lane car park there.
