Otter prints? (1 Viewer)

Andy,
Could it be a Tayra? They are roughly the same size as the river Otters and are a member of the Weasel family I think.

Suppose it's possible Bryan, I was making assumptions I guess as it was pretty close to the waters edge.

Andy,
The ones I've encountered seem pretty opportunistic. I have seen them way high up in the trees but also foraging around river edges
Having said that it still could be a Neotropical Otter, the Tayra are more common though. Maybe someone more familiar with the mammal species in the region could help out here.
