Can you give the actual locations and dates, please? Thanks.
1. Familiar chat.
2. If inland, long-tailed/reed cormorant.

Butty - it is true that sometimes these details are vital to a good ID. Not always.

But sometimes you seem to go out of your way to agress posters unnecessarily.

In Deb's case, she/he specified between Knysna and Cape Town and September. However, if this is not sufficient detail for you, then if you open the thumbnail, you will see the greater detail of which I have taken a screenshot and posted here.

Perhaps you would like all posts to include a dated photo of the poster actually taking the photo?

Why not look more carefully before posting, especially if you are being disagreeable.

It's good practice, and polite, and helpful - and a requirement - to provide the information - straightforwardly. In this particular case, location is important.

It could have been a deal briefer and less aggressive, but you do have a case to make. Don't spoil it with silly sarcasm.

"We" have been a little over-zealous in the matter of date and time of photo. I know of at one poster who vowed never to post to the forum again because of this.
