Thanks for the details, Alex. It's a pity, then, that Svensson shows the solid/hollow ear-coverts and the dark on crown exactly the wrong way round for juveniles of these two species (edn 2; as a Sensible Android Person it'll be months before I see edn 3).the first has a pattern . . .
