Finches Friend feeders (1 Viewer)

I have both the peanut feeder and the seedfeeder. I love mine. I've even seen the robin on the seedfeeder.
Can I recommend them given the price....yes, given my own personal experience. It did take a while before the blue tits worked it out. The rest soon followed.
Ps, I do have a torpedo squirrel baffle on my feeding station and the squirrels haven't got past that yet.

@will562 Don't have squirrels coming to the feeders so the plastic isn't an issue (y)

@therobin Thanks for this, might invest in a seed feeder, will send you the bill if the seed gets wet 😂

Well did you finally buy the seed feeder?
Not so far. The lantern feeders I dug back out seem to be keeping the seed dry and the weather is slowly starting to change for the better.

Keeping the Finches Friend in mind tho, may still end up as a purchase 👍

£60 is on the steep side for any bird feeder! But given a number of birds can feed off it at once I might give it a try.

Can Niger seed be used with it?

Basically I’m desperate to try and entice the goldfinches in the area into my garden and if this works it will be worth every penny!

Bought one of them last week and hung it from the feeding station I bought a few weeks ago. Came downstairs this morning to head out to work and the whole thing was on its side.

The current Mrs she’ll not av feathers on is nearly 8 months pregnant and got up in the middle of the night as she’s suffering from indigestion so finds it’s easier to come downstairs for an hour instead of tossing and turning. She said a neighbourhood cat was patrolling the fences and sheds in the early hours so I’m wondering if it was that little sod who attempted to climb it to get to a bird and sent it crashing to the ground.

The feeder is anchored with feet spiked into the ground but I’m thinking I might have to fabricate some sort of contraption to help secure the pole of the station tightly to a fence post.

Have also ordered an ultrasonic deterrent. These birds are costing me a small fortune😅
