Dendrocopos major artobolevskii Charlemagne, 1934 OD Journal of the Bio-Zoological Cycle , no . 4 , p . 26 (not seen) or Šarleman' M., 1934: Ornìtologìčnì notatki [Ornithological notes]. – Žurnal Bio-Zoologìčnogo Ciklu (Kiïv) 4 (8): 21-29. [In Ukrainian.]

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims:
Great Spotted Woodpecker ssp. Dendrocopos major artobolevskii Charlemagne, 1934 NCR [JS Dendrocopos major candidus]
Dr Vladimir Mikhaylovich Artobolevsky (fl.1934–1958) was a Russian zoologist, who was a Professor at Kiev University and at the Zoological Museum of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.

The Key to Scientific Names
Prof. Dr Vladimir Mikhailovich Artobolevsky (fl. 1934) Russian zoologist (syn. Dendrocopos major candidus).

If dedicated to him it should be Влади́мир Миха́йлович Артоболе́вский (1874-1952). No idea why 1958 according Eponym. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Also Артоболевский, Владимир Михайлович — Википедия

...albeit, of course, the Ukrainian version calls him Ukrainian (and Volodymyr instead of Vladimir) : Артоболевський Володимир Михайлович — Вікіпедія
(Despite he was born in Russia, and the writings on his tombstone, in an Ukrainian cemetery, are in Russian.)

(The original ref should be something like:
Шарлемань М. 1934. Орнітологічні нотатки. Журнал Біо-Зоологічного Циклу ВУАН, №4 (8): 21-29.
The journal was also known under the French title "Journal du Cycle Bio-Zoologique".)

This subspecies was discussed in:
(PDF) Type specimens of birds in the collection of the National Museum of Natural History, National Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Kiev, Ukraine .
"Note that Šarleman' signed his papers as Eduard Šarleman' until 1914, when he converted from the Roman Catholic to the Orthodox Church, and as Mikola Šarleman' thereafter"
A little miore about this era.
Other bird forum coverage.
These two names addressed on page 161 of https://bioweb.lnu.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Zbirnyk-SHats-k-2019_-1.pdf .
