Big da'ay in Da'an (1 Viewer)

Was walking home from my girlfriend's house through Da'an today, as I often do, but today I had my binos (sadly, no camera) and the torrential rain had just stopped. As I walked near the pond the birds erupted in activity. All of the common ones (doves, mynas, bulbuls, whiteeyes, treepies, magpies, sparrows, brown shrikes, malayan night herons) but a few I had not seen before. First was two Streak Breasted Scimitar Babblers, which I got to watch for a good while, and then a long encounter with an Oriental Magpie-Robin. I watched it for a long time from pretty close up, and then hurried home to see what it was, as I wasn't familiar with it from either of the TW bird books I have. An exotic population, I guess, but still fun for me...
