Anything in Calgary this time of year? (1 Viewer)

I'm going to be in Calgary/Banff the first week of December. I was wondering if there were any birds that stayed around for the winter and where's the best place to find them. Any thoughts?

Calgary - late Nov./early Dec.

Thanks so much for the links. I did get to see a decent number of birds during my recent trip to Calgary.

One of the first things I noticed when I arrived in Calgary driving downtown was this beautiful black, blue and white colored crow-like bird with a really long tail, the black-billed magpie. I came to discover that these are quite ubiquitous, but I was still excited because I don't get to see these in southern California. I did make it to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary one day where I got to see more black-billed magpies and the common birds that I already know like mallards and Canada geese. Among the birds that I hadn't seen before (either because I'm just learning them now since I just started birding seriously last July or they're simply not found where I live) were common goldeneyes, harlequin ducks, common mergansers, and black-capped chickadees. I liked the chickadees quite a bit as they seemed to have little fear of people, and I even thought one would land on me.

I didn't really do much more birding as I had a hard time convincing my travel companion to do it with me in below freezing weather though I did see some others by chance. I saw a bald eagle in the mountains near Banff as well as lots of ravens. I also saw lots of Clark's nutcrackers near Lake Louise, even perching on vehicles in a parking lot.
