    The Glaikit Raven

This bird was calling loudly and staring down at the ground below and as I approached, flew towards me, over my head and back ....... twice! Raven? Huge beak and really gruff call, anyone seen this behaviour before?

  4. Unusual Catch

    Unusual Catch

It's a bit hard to tell, but I caught this Great Egret eating a baby Florida Softshell. It had some difficulty trying to figure out how to swallow it though, lol

    The Odd Couple

I've been going up to Ardersier for a few years now and most mornings I'm up and away along the shore with a camera, see what there is to be seen. I've quite often seen a lone Hooded Crow on the shoreline picking around but, it's very wary and usually flies off when I get closer or, it's too...

    What is this behaviour? - Badgers - 02:00, 07 July 2022 - Essex, UK

Hi all, I saw a couple of badgers on an evening walk near my house last week so I decided to set up a trail cam with a few bird peanuts scattered in front to see if they are regularly there. They must have a sett fairly close as my cam has shown 4 adults and 2 cubs passing through this location...

    Mysterious blue tit behaviour

We have a blue tit building its nest at the moment and we observed some mysterious behaviour, which I don't know if it is courtship or defence. I hope someone may shed some light on this. Yesterday evening (video), the nesting blue tit entered the box. A while later another one came with its...
  9. MATING !!! Peregrine Falcons

    MATING !!! Peregrine Falcons

I was out taking some photos (hopefully of raptors), and in a lull was photographing some little geewhizzits close by in the canopy behind me. As is always the way, the action was in the other direction - I can't precisely recall what alerted me, whether it was other birds, the whoosh of high...

    Tete-a-tete 2

Upon request I thought another snapshot of this "handbags-at-dawn scuffle" between two Mallard mothers looked quite funny because they stick their bills into each others plumage.
  11. No you can not have my wife

No you can not have my wife

This was either a territorial argument or more likely a marital ownership bid. Clearly the two together were in harmony!
  12. Kittiwakes pair bonding

    Kittiwakes pair bonding

Taken on Bempton cliffs Yorkshire. The birds in general were all sqabbling over mates or nesting sites, these two seem to have hit it off.
  13. Mr Shrike-tit

    Mr Shrike-tit

Eastern Shrike-tit (male) I took these two photos of the pair of them when they visited the pool together. I couldn't get them together in one photo though.

    A peck on the cheek

No, it's not 2 loved up sparrows. It's a fight for the perch.
