Hi can you tell which this is. I took two photos of the same bird. I thought it was a merganser as there is white near the bill ,but someone else reported it as a goosander. I would appreciate your thoughts Thanks.
As said it is a Red-breasted Merganser, the big clues are the "double punk" hair style and the lack of a clear demarcation between head and breast colours.
