Spain, Andalucia, 16.-23.11.2008 (1 Viewer)

I and a couple of friends visited Andalucia in November 2008. I have attached an Excel-file showing the route and the number of each species encountered each day (so it isn't a proper trip report, but perhaps it can still be useful to someone). Note that there's a map on the second sheet!

In many cases the numbers are not exact, but rather crude estimates.

Thats a very successful trip CAU :t: . Well done on 31 Black-Shouldered Kites !!
 
The winter of 2008 was exceptional for Black-shouldered Kites in the southern parts of Spain. Unusually cold inclement conditions in central Spain resulted in a mini migration of many of these birds to warmer climes in the southern parts. Extremadura was also inundated with them, and it was the norm for a day out to produce many sightings. Its not usually that easy !!!!

Black-bellied Sandgrouse
totally 27 flying in several flocks between Osuna and La Jantejuela 23/11

common at the golf course west of the mouth of Rio Guadalhorce

Richard's Pipit

Alpine Accentor
