juv. Black-Crowned Night Heron, SE PA (1 Viewer)

Hey all,

I'm pretty sure these are juv black-crowned's because of the thick white spots on the wings and the sharply pointed yellow bill, but I just wanted confirmation.

OOC, Matt, did you find those in the Lehigh Valley?

OOC? And yes Jeff I did! Do you know where the Grist Mill is on Grist Mill road, I think that is what it is called?

We were fishing there and I saw some Great Blue Herons and turned around and looked against the shore line and these two were jetting back and forth snapping at frogs/fish! They then flew down to the lower part of the dam where we were standing(water isn't flowing over the falls because the level is too low, and I got within 10-15 feet of him.

EDIT:same place I saw Cedar Waxwings. Green Heron, Red-Tailed Hawk, Sharpie, and Belted Kingfisher!
