The weather here in Kent has not been the best for viewing the ZC for the past 3 days. I last saw it on thursday same place, same time as usual. It probably is still there, just not being looked for by many people as there have been gales and horizontal rain in recent days.
Good luck on Fri,

Ben

Do people think it is likely to over winter or depart for warmer climes? Appreciating it is just opinion.

Sorry that I have not replied before but I have been a little unwell / away in Somerset.

Many thanks for the information! It certainly made the day go well!

Oh! Seeing the bird helped as well!

All the very best,

Reg

Despite no positive news I am still minded to go on Friday; I understand the weather has been poor? Can anyone confirm there has not been actual negative news in decent conditions?

Looking at the forecast for tomorrow may change your mind Mike, looks like its going to be heavy rain and very windy for most of the morning at least. If your coming from Cumbria id give it a miss personally! I have been past in decent conditions twice this week, but had no sight nor sound of the bird, every other time I have been past there has been little point in looking. If you go for it, good luck though!
