No Hoopoe or even a Red Kite, but two Kingfishers were showing in front of the East hide today. Don't know if they were a pair but managed to get a shot of a male who landed on the reeds to the right of the hide. Great to see them back! Also managed to get some better snaps of the Med Gull...

Thanks John. Yes, Fotopic who hosted my previous site along with something like 150,000+ anothers worldwide went off line with no mention about why at the time or since. However it did me a favour as my new host is far better and their support is second to none. New address is...

Yesterday two Buzzards were taking an interest in the Crows nest, the Oak to the right of the Flashes when looking from the hide (maybe old news?) Pic below, does the nest seem to be larger than it was? Link to LRP's, the male strutting then mating (just click on images to increase size). Image...

Hi All My new website (http://www.stuartandrews.net/) is now up and running (although I still have loads of images to upload) so I can start posting some pics again. So below are some links to Med Gull record only images (really means poor quality) and pics of the Dulin and the LRP all taken...

Had a look around today Dave but couldn't see any Redpolls, just Goldfiches with several Siskins (but that doesn't mean the Redpolls weren't there!). Below is a link to a heavily cropped image of the Mandarin that is/was on the Moors. This shot was taken from the East hide and the bird was on...

Phil, It's worth looking at the North-West end of the Moors (below where the main power line pylons are one the skyline) around 9-9.30am because twice this week I have seen the Bittern sunning itself there. Today it was there for quite some time, out in the open, before it went deeper into the...

Hi All You must have seen over the past few months the occasional dark/black pheasant on the reserve - Steve Pooles birds? Well I didn't pay much attention to them until I snapped one today on the Moors, and black they ain't! On the 'net some call them 'melanistic' and others say they are...

Thanks Trevor. Spent a couple of hours waiting and snapping to get the shots and I totally agree with your comment about Upton. For ease of access and how close you can get to quality birds, Upton must be the best birding site in Worcestershire. However as you know, most of the success is due...

Just about to see if I got anything else in focus - it just wouldn't come out of the shadows. Hi Pete I saw the Jack Snipe yesterday afternoon and managed to get some snaps in differing light, links below to a couple of the pics added to my website. The hardest part for me was trying to get...
