    Agree Sid, Caution at all times methinks. Just an example.... amazing number of to me, obvious Chinese specimens on sale from Kent. I find all sorts on auction sites including some of the above mentioned...

    Feeling rather lucky at the moment I think, was due to be working in Ya'an from the 22nd, for the Chinese, thoughts go out to all those affected. It's been cancelled, but wishing Al and Sid luck with forthcoming trips.

    Interesting! Some of the Asian ssp of Wildcat are actually quite spotted, but I'm fairly certain this isn't one of them. This looks like a young animal to me and the strength of the facial markings especially the cheek stripe together with the spotted, not barred limbs would indicate Leopard...

    Gripped!!!! Tibetan Fox on my wanted list, what a shape, drawn to it ever since I saw it on Attenborough, great stuff Sid! You'll like the Cat stuff, should heighten the drive to go and find a Snow Leopard, not far away with some inspiring shots! Thanks James!

    Agree, though I think Pallas's can be ruled out as it has very broad paws, chunky feet and these prints look rather nimble. That sounds about right..

    I'd be interested in hearing what you come up with Sid, I have been looking quite seriously at the mammals of the region and am keen to hear what you see, regularly or otherwise. Have you seen Pallas's Cat on your travels?

    What a magnificent beast that Panda is, gripped. I think its a Short-eared Sid, you can see a white trailing edge to the secondaries and everything else fits.
